This page contains the results of several weeks of study and prayer and a three hour gathering on January 9, 2014 of sixty one leaders of Holy Family, St. Mary and St. Anthony parishes. Our purpose was to get a clear picture of how people perceive our present situation (the SWOC Process) and a sense of how people felt we should organize our three parishes to assure our continued vitality in the future (Parish Vision Survey). From this reading of our parish members the Pastoral Councils will prepare drafts of a Mission Statement and a Vision Statement to present to the parishes at Town Hall Meetings in April.
SWOC Process
Participants broke into small groups of 5 - 8 people. Groups A & B were composed of Holy Family Members. Groups C, D and E were composed of St. Mary's members. And Groups F, G, I and J were composed of St. Anthony members. (There was no group H) Each participant came with a list of what they believe to be the top three Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Challenges for their parish. These were then combined into one lists for each small group. Then they voted to pick the top five from their Small Group's combined list. Those lists are documents 2, 3, and 4 below. Each parish's Small Groups came together in one large group and voted to determine the Top Five for their parish. Those can be found in document 1 below.
Six possible models for organizing our three parishes were offered to facilitate thinking and discussion. Those models are described in document 5 below. Participants were invited to select the model that would best serve us at this time and to offer any suggestions as to how it might be modified to better address our situation. Responses have been tallied by parish in document 6 and comments recorded in documents 7, 8 and 9.
