Marriage Preparation and Enrichment
If you are looking at this page it is probably because you are engaged and wondering what is involved in celebrating your wedding at St. Anthony's Church. Congratulations! We want to do everything we can to support you on your wedding day and for the next sixty or seventy years of married life that follows! When one puts their life in God's hands by making a permanent commitment to an other, the adventure, the real adventure of life begins!
Please click here to see our "Marriage Preparation Handbook." It includes a page of usual questions, an outline of the steps for preparing for the wedding, outlines of a typical wedding celebration, sample wedding programs and more.
In summary, the Church asks four things of a couple as they prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage:
1) Come to understand the meaning of the wedding vows.
2) Take a one day Pre-Marriage Class.
3) Complete a communication exercise called the FOCCUS (Facilitating Open
Couple Communication and Understanding Survey.)
4) Plan the wedding liturgy.
Information about all of these are in the "Marriage Preparation Handbook." If you have any questions about any of this information please give me a call or send me an e-mail at (715-937-1644 or email@example.com)
I look very much forward to working with you. And..... Congratulations!
